Copper: An Essential Nutrient
Copper has been in use for over 11,000 years and it is often referred as copper age or chalcolithic era. It dates back to 9000 BC in the Middle Eastern region and was perhaps one of the first few metals used by the humans.
Copper, like Iron, is an essential trace mineral necessary for survival. It is found in all body tissues and plays a role in making red blood cells, helping the body absorb iron, maintaining nerve cells, and boosting the immune system. Copper Deficiency can cause serious health issues.
Since our body does not synthesize copper, we need to include it in our daily diet. Copper infused water is a natural way to give your system its daily copper requirement. According to Ayurveda, drinking copper-enriched water first thing in the morning on an empty stomach helps balance all three doshas (Kapha, Vata and Pitta) it does so by positively charging the water. Storing water in a copper vessel works as a purification process. It can kill all the microorganisms like molds, fungi, algae and bacteria, present in the water that could be harmful for the body. It also helps maintain body’s pH (acid-alkaline) balance. This also ensures proper functioning of different organs and several metabolic processes.
